Launching a World-First: Seafood Integrated Scenarios

Launching a World-First: Seafood Integrated Scenarios

It’s never been done – until now.

The Aotearoa Circle, in partnership with KPMG, has developed the Seafood Integrated Scenarios report - a world-first framework that brings together climate change, nature, and Te Ao Māori into a single, practical, and culturally grounded scenario-planning tool.

Nature powers our economy and way of life. Water, soil, air, flora, and fauna underpin the industries we depend on. As the impacts of climate change grow, integrating nature and indigenous knowledge into planning is no longer optional - it’s essential for long-term resilience.

While focused on the seafood industry, the report’s insights are relevant to all sectors navigating integrated risk. It offers a way to see the bigger picture - connecting environmental, cultural, and economic realities in a way that leads to more robust decisions.

This report builds on The Aotearoa Circle’s original 2020 marine scenarios and is aligned with New Zealand’s Climate Standards. It extends traditional climate analysis by incorporating nature and indigenous worldviews, unlocking deeper insight with minimal extra effort. Request a copy of the report here.
