Who we are

We welcome the involvement of all who are willing to share in our duty to restore New Zealand’s natural resources and taonga. Supporting The Aotearoa Circle is not a passive decision; our partners are the heartbeat of The Aotearoa Circle.

Vicki Watson

Chief Executive

Vicki has been Chief Executive of The Aotearoa Circle since near its inception. Since 2019, she has led the team, expanded partnerships, and driven systems-level change to restore nature and foster enduring prosperity for Aotearoa. With three decades of private sector experience, she has built trusted collaboration with public and private sector leaders. Vicki’s personal vision - Healthy People, Healthy Planet, Healthy Economy - aligns closely with The Circle’s mission, and she is deeply committed to honouring Sir Rob’s vision.
Mark Fitzpatrick

Director of Partnerships

Mark joined in 2024 as Director of Implementation and more recently Director of Partnerships, focusing on keeping Partners informed, engaged, and collaborating. He champions The Circle’s work and impact, connecting with those interested in joining or learning more. With nearly 20 years’ experience in the nature sector, Mark understands the urgency of environmental restoration alongside economic priorities. Outside work, he enjoys hunting in Canterbury, spending time with his children, and practicing martial arts.
Jo Jalfon

Director of Communications

Jo leads storytelling and strategy for The Aotearoa Circle’s communications, connecting and inspiring Partners and stakeholders. She joined in early 2025, bringing deep experience from primary industries, tourism, and FMCG, with a background as a journalist and editor in New Zealand and the UK. Drawing energy from Te Ika-a-Māui’s landscapes, Jo is proud to support The Circle’s mission to restore Aotearoa’s natural taonga and build enduring prosperity.
Hannah Dooley

Executive Assistant, Events & RAP

Hannah joined The Circle in 2023 as Executive Assistant to Vicki and keeps the team connected by managing schedules, meetings, and events. She supports the RAP and alumni groups, ensuring smooth coordination. Outside work, Hannah enjoys sailing, pottery, and cooking for family and friends, valuing time spent around good food and company.
Jessica Hopkins

Communications & Digital Delivery

Jess joined The Circle in 2021, progressing from EA to Project Coordinator and now Communications and Digital Delivery. She works closely with Jo on communications, manages digital platforms, and leads in-house graphic design, always seeking to improve workflows. Jess values The Circle’s role in preserving Aotearoa and enjoys pilates, family time, and relaxing with a good book.
