Let's Account for Nature

What is natural
capital accounting?

Natural capital is clean water and fertile soil, healthy plants and animals, and the ecosystems they form. It is the name for the nature behind our food, fibre, tourism, energy and infrastructure.  We measure capital, labour, materials and finance in detail, yet the natural environment underneath them stays invisible.

Natural capital accounting is about closing that gap. It provides a way to measure and value nature so it can be built into real financial and strategic decisions.
